How do I renew my travel insurance?
There are three ways to renew your annual travel insurance:
- Auto-renew your policy
When you first buy your annual travel insurance policy, you’ll be asked if you’d like us to automatically renew your policy each year. This way you get continuous cover, hassle-free.
- Renew your policy online
You can renew your policy yourself when your policy is due to expire. Don’t worry, you don’t have to remember the expiry date off by heart, we’ll be in touch to remind you. Just log into your My Staysure account whenever is convenient for you.
- Call us to renew your policy
If you’d rather speak to someone over the phone, you can give our Renewals Team a call on 01604 265688. They’ll run through your policy with you and make any changes needed.
Auto-renewing your policy
What is auto-renewal for travel insurance?
Auto-renewal for travel insurance means that your Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy can automatically renew once it’s due to expire. This gives you continuous cover so you don’t need to worry about it expiring. You can opt-in for auto-renewal when you first buy your policy with us.
How does the automatic renewal process work?
If you’ve chosen to renew your travel insurance automatically, we’ll send you a reminder by post at least 21 days before your policy expires. This reminder details the price you paid previously, and how much your policy will cost for another 12 months of cover.
If you’ve chosen to renew using a continuous payment method (debit or credit card), we’ll automatically take payment the day before your policy expires, so there’s no gap in your cover.
If you’re happy with your renewal quote and there are no changes to make, you won’t need to do a thing. Your policy will automatically renew so you’re all ready to go for your next holiday.
Why do you automatically renew my annual policy?
Automatically renewing your cover removes the risk of your policy expiring. Instead, your annual travel insurance will roll over for another year with no gaps. Just make sure your payment details and medical conditions are up-to-date on your policy.
What if my medical conditions have changed when I’ve been sent an auto-renewal?
Please tell us about any changes to your medical conditions as soon as possible. Whether it’s a change in medication or a new diagnosis, you can do this online via your My Staysure account or you can call us on 01604 265688.
Making changes to your renewing policy
What if I need to amend my policy?
Amending your Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy can include upgrading your destination cover limits from Europe to Worldwide cover, or updating your medical conditions if there has been any changes to your health.
If you’re amending your policy, you may see an increase in price from your renewal quote. But with this comes peace of mind, knowing your travel insurance can cover you against the unexpected.
What if I need to change my personal details?
To change your personal details, like a change of address or payment method, log into your My Staysure account to instantly update your details.
Alternatively, you can give a member of our Renewals Team a call on 01604 265688.
What if I want to only renew myself and not the other people named on the policy?
Only looking to renew yourself on your policy? No problem. Just make sure you let us know at least five days before the date your policy renews if you pay for your policy annually, or 10 days’ before if you pay monthly.
Cancelling your auto-renewal
Can I stop my policy from automatically renewing?
If you’ve changed your mind and would like to cancel your upcoming renewal, just give us a call before your renewal date on 01604 265688.
If you’re paying monthly for your travel insurance, you’ll need to give us at least 10 days’ notice before your renewal date. If you pay for your policy in one go, we’ll need at least five days’ notice.
Can I cancel my policy if it has been automatically renewed?
Yes, you have a 14 day cooling-off period if you change your mind after your policy has renewed. If you decide to cancel your policy during the 14 days, you’ll receive a full refund.
