Group travel insurance

You must let us know if you’re going on a cruise. You can also take out an optional Cruise Plus add-on. This is available with Comprehensive and Signature Travel Insurance policies, and it gives you extra cover for things that only happen at sea.

To be covered, each person travelling in your group must be able to answer ‘yes’ to these statements:

✔ I am medically fit to travel
✔ I am not travelling to receive medical treatment.

If anyone answers ‘no’ to these, then we won’t be able to cover that person with your group policy. If this happens, we suggest you contact the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) for help finding cover.

If an emergency crops up when you’re away, anybody on the policy can call our 24-hour emergency support team.

If you need to talk to us about your group policy, you’ll either need the policy organiser’s details, or that person will need to have given permission for other members of your party to speak on their behalf.

The policy organiser can give this permission by contacting customer services or by letting us know when you’re buying your policy over the phone.

You can cover up to nine people online and up to 30 people when you call us. You can all live at different addresses.

If you're booking travel insurance for your family and you have grown-up children over the age of 18 (or 21 if in full time education), then you would also need to book a group policy.

You can take out a family policy when there are one or two adults with children under the age of 18 (or 21 if in full time education) travelling who live at the same address.

To be covered for COVID-19 on our policies, you need to have had all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine you’ve been offered, including any booster jabs.

You can also be covered if you can’t have the vaccine due to a medical exemption.

If you’ve refused any doses of the COVID-19 vaccine then you won’t be covered for COVID-19 related claims.
