Worldwide Travel Insurance

To be covered, you need to have received all doses of the COVID vaccine that you’ve been offered, including any booster jabs.

You can also be covered if you can’t have the vaccine due to a medical exemption.

If you have refused any doses of the COVID vaccine or any booster jab, then you won’t be covered for COVID related claims.

If you need to insure just the one trip with worldwide travel insurance - even if it has multiple destinations - then you’ll need to tell us when you’re going, when you’re coming back and all of the countries that you’re planning on visiting.

We’ll do the rest and work out the level of cover you’ll need.

With our Annual Travel Insurance, you can choose the region to cover all of the places you want to visit.

There are five options:
1. UK only (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland), Isle of Man, The Channel Islands)
2. Europe excluding Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Malta, Morocco, Spain, Turkey and Tunisia
3. Europe including those excluded above
4. Worldwide excluding Bermuda, Canada , the islands of the Caribbean, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Thailand, and the United States of America
5. All countries

The only countries or areas we can’t give you cover to visit are where the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) have advised against ‘all’ or ‘all but essential’ travel.

You should check the FCDO Advice for your destination, and any WHO updates when going abroad.

You can travel almost anywhere in the world and still be covered with travel insurance, as long as your destination is safe to visit.

Keep an eye on Foreign Travel Advice from the Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) before you travel, as advice can change.

If the FCDO, World Health Organisation or local authorities have advised against all or all but essential travel to your destination, it wouldn’t be safe for you to travel.

If you decided to travel against FCDO advice, your policy would be made invalid and wouldn’t cover you if you needed to claim. Even if advice changes while you’re on holiday, you won’t be covered if your destination was listed as unsafe when you travelled.

When you’re halfway around the world and something goes wrong, it can feel daunting.

If you need medical assistance, you can call our 24 hour medical emergency helpline any time of day. They can help find your nearest medical facility to get you the best treatment.

You can even call our medical emergency number with reverse charges so you won’t be charged for your call.

If you have a serious medical emergency where you need to be transported home with help after treatment, we’ll be there for you. We’ll send a medical professional out to you to be by your side for the entire journey. They will make sure you’re as comfortable and safe as you can be for the journey.

When you’re travelling worldwide, you’ll want to enjoy your holiday comfortably, confident that you’re well covered by your travel insurance if you have a medical emergency.

You can declare your medical condition through our online medical screening process, which is a straightforward set of questions for us to understand how your medical conditions affect you. Or, if you prefer, you can complete the medical screening over the phone.

It’s important that all pre-existing conditions are declared on your policy. This will avoid large medical bills if you need treatment in another country. Failure to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions may affect the validity of your policy should you need to claim.
